Loretta Lowenthal

Loretta Lowenthal, 67, of Leola, died Thursday, January 15, 2015 at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital after a one year illness.

Born in Paradise Twp., she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Gladys (Rife) Houck. She was married 37 years on Oct. 8 to Joseph W. Lowenthal.

Loretta was a homemaker and a member of the Paradise Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She also was an avid BINGO player and she enjoyed her grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Kile Lowenthal of Lancaster, and Warren, married to Kristen (Hostetter) Lowenthal of East Earl; six grandchildren, Katheryne, Karalynne, Andrew, Rebekah, Hannah, and Rachel; a brother, Paul Houck; and five sisters, Betty Beiler, Esther Geotz, Gladys, married to Jay Hossier, Beulah, married to Barry Savage, and Wanda Rohrer.

Preceding her in death is a sister, Violet Yellets.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 10 AM at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland with viewing from 9-10 AM.
