Louise D. Savini

Louise D. Savini, 84, of 588 East Jackson Street, New Holland, died Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Lancaster General Hospital. Louise was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Orsalina (Ricci) D’Adamo. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael J. Savini, Sr., in 2003. Louise was born in Bryn Mawr Hospital where she later launched her career as a Registered Nurse after graduating from the Bryn Mawr Hospital School of Nursing. Her nursing practice included manyfields –the Emergency Room, Medical/Surgical Nursing, Labor & Delivery, Psychiatric Nursing, and private physician office nursing.Louise then took her care giving skills and combined business skills opening Children’s Play Nook, a day care center that she operated in the 1960’s and 70’s. Upon retirement Louise and Mike moved from the Main Lineto New Holland to enjoy the peaceful pace of rural life. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in New Holland. Louise loved her family and many friends, and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and feeding and caring for many feathered and furry friends.One year, Louise was honored with a ribbon at the County Fair. Surviving are two sons, Dr. Michael J., married to Debra S. Day Savini of Ventnor City, NJ, and Richard J., married to Bernadette (Frick) Savini of Malvern; and two grandchildren, Matthew J. and Dr. Jennifer M. Savini. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 14 at 11 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 150 Water St., New Holland with a viewing from 10-11 am.
