Lucille Kauffman

Lucille “Lucy” Combs Kauffman, 45, of Conestoga, died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Lancaster Regional Medical Center.

Born in Ephrata, she was the daughter of the late John and Patricia (McMath) Combs. She was married 16 years on Nov. 24 to Dwight Kauffman.

She worked at several area factories as a laborer most of her life. She was a hard working mother and was willing to work at whatever was necessary to support her family. She shared her heart through her joy of arts and crafts with her friends and family.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Andrew, married to Sarah (Riker) Dent of Middleburg, and David Brown at home; two grandchildren, Orion and Finnian Dent; brother, John Combs and his fiancé, Bobbi Moe of Paradise. Her foster parents, Margaret & Roy Eby of Akron, PA, sister, Denise, married to Abel Konon of Hawaii, brother, David Eby, married to Amy Miller of Tokyo, Japan, sisters, Diane Eby of Greenwood, DE, and Sarah Eby of Akron; She was beloved Aunt Lucy to Payton, Alex, Joseph and Roy.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 10 at 3 pm at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland, with the Reverend Michael Howes officiating. Interment will be in the Bethany E.C. Church Cemetery, Conestoga. The family will receive friends on Thursday, at the Funeral Home, from 2:30 – 3 pm.
