Lucille K. Simmons

Lucille K. Simmons, 90, of 30 Arrowhead Dr., Ephrata, died Monday, February 24, 2014 at Fairmount Homes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lester H. Simmons in 1996.

Born in Earl Twp., she was the daughter of the late Barton Sylvester and Gertrude (Weaver) Stover.

She was a homemaker and a member of Pilgrim Bible Church.

She was an avid crocheter, crocheting many lap robes for Ephrata Hospital. She also enjoyed Search A Word and jigsaw puzzles.

Surviving are three children: Joyce E. Hoffman, Akron; Dale L. married to Pat Simmons, Ephrata; Stephen R. married to Linda Simmons, Gordonville; four grandsons: Jason and Geoffrey Simmons and Timothy A. and Thomas A. Hoffman; five great grandchildren: Brittany, Madison, and Mackenzie Simmons and Zachary T. and Keira L. Hoffman; and two brothers: Leonard S. Stover, Quarryville and Jay D. Stover, New Holland.

She was preceded in death by four siblings: Evelyn Stone, Dorothy Stover, Gerald Stover and Alfred Stover.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, February 28 at 10 a.m. at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland with Pastor Norman Greiss officiating. Interment in Zeltenreich Cemetery.
