Lydia G Martin, 87, went home to her Lord on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Richland Christian Home where she resided with her husband of 66 years, Lloyd M Martin for the past 2 years.
Born and raised in Hinkletown, she was the daughter of Samuel and Francis Good of S. H. Good Lumber.
In addition to her husband, Lydia is survived by 5 children, Glenn, husband of Esther Reiff Martin, New Holland; Gerald, husband of Ada Nolt Martin, New Holland; Brenda, wife of Harold Martin, Mohnton; Arnold, husband of Melanie Nolt Martin, East Earl; Keith, husband of Luann Ringler Martin East Earl and daughter-in -law, Regina Martin, wife of the late Rodney Martin, East Earl; 26 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren in addition to 4 sisters, Catherine, widow of Elam Martin; Eva, married to Frank Burkholder; Vera, widow of Ed McEllhenny; Esther, married to Edwin Martin and a brother, John Good.
She was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Martin, two grandsons, Bruce Martin, Lance Martin, a great grandson, Brooks Martin and a sister, Anna Mary, widow of Frank Hurst
Lydia was a member of Blue Ball Mennonite Church where she taught Sunday School for many years, affirming and encouraging others with her positive outlook on life.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Lydia enjoyed cooking, singing, gardening and baking pies. She encouraged many with her thoughtful cards and made countless good memories with her grandchildren.
She loved the changing seasons, bright sunny mornings and she was always happiest when surrounded by her family.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 25, at 10:00 A.M. at the Blue Ball Mennonite Church, 143 Ewell Road, Blue Ball, PA. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewings will be held at the church on Thursday from 4:30 to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
