Lydia K. Newswanger

Lydia K. Newswanger, 72, died Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Sinking Spring Nursing Care and Rehab. Growing up in the Denver, PA area, she was the daughter of the late David M. and Amanda (Kilmer) Newswanger.

She was employed in elder in-home care and housekeeping services for many of her working years. Her main hobby was reading and she also enjoyed sight-seeing drives.

Surviving are siblings Susie Newswanger and Elias (Mary) Newswanger of Costa Rica, Amos (Eileen) Newswanger of Ephrata, Daniel Newswanger of AK, and a brother-in-law Floyd Rissler of East Earl.

She was preceded in death by a brother David and sisters Anna and Marian.

Thanks to all the staff who provided care at Sinking Spring and also to the staff of Holisticare Hospice, who provided support the last weeks of her life.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 10 A. M. at Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill, with Pastor Eric Marshall officiating. Interment will follow in Blainsport Mennonite Cemetery. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 9 – 10 A.M. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.groffeckenroth.com.
