Mabel R. Horning

Mabel R. Horning, 91, formerly of Goodville, died Wednesday, December 24, 20205, at Maple Farm Nursing Center with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel J. Horning in 2013.

Born in Pool Forge, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Mimm) Rhoads.

Mabel had last been a cafeteria worker and playground aide at Blue Ball Elementary School. She had also worked at Wright’s Bakery and Goodville Post Office.

She was a lifelong member of Churchtown United Methodist Church. She enjoyed shopping, walking and flower gardening.

Surviving is a daughter, Debra married to Clarence Brubaker, Ephrata.

She was preceded in death by four siblings: Margaret Longabaugh, Betty Yoder, Louise Holmes and Albert Rhoads, Jr.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Churchtown United Methodist Church, 2170 Main St., Churchtown (Narvon). Interment in United Methodist Cemetery of Churchtown.
