Madaline Baker Kilhefner

Madaline Baker Kilhefner, 94, of 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, died Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Garden Spot Village. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, H. Leo Kilhefner in 1996.


Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Harold Ross and Martha (Muller) Baker.


After graduating from Ephrata High School in 1937, she worked as a bookkeeper for Sheaffer Eggs in Ephrata. She later worked for 38 years until retirement with her husband as office manager for the family business, The Sportsman’s Shop in New Holland.


She was a member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ, New Holland where she served with Altar Guild. She had also been involved with the Girls Scouts and Brownies and formerly served as a director with Meals on Wheels in the New Holland area.


Surviving are three children: Harold L., Jr. married to Donna L. Kilhefner, Terre Hill; Brenda K. married to Leonard H. Wise, Bowmansville; and Martha A. married to Dr. William V. Kahler, Millersville; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by a brother Harold R. Baker, Jr.


Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Madaline’s memory to The Children’s Dyslexia Center of Reading, P. O.
