Makenzie Lauren Hess

Makenzie Lauren Hess, 22, of Leola passed away on Friday, June 15, 2012. She was the daughter of J. Kenneth Hess of Willow Street, PA, and the late Mona J. (Treaster) Hess of Leola, PA. In addition to her father, she is survived by her sister, Kara Lauren Hess of Lancaster, PA, her step mother Mary Jane Hess and her grandparents, Elvin and Velma Hess of Strasburg and William and Darlis Treaster of Belleville, PA. She attended Locust Grove Mennonite School and Conestoga Valley. She was passionate about environmental science and was enrolled at the Lancaster Campus of Harrisburg Area Community College. She enjoyed writing and playing the piano. She was an intelligent, sensitive, humorous, and beautiful person who will be greatly missed by her father, her sister, and family.

A celebration of Makenzie’s life will be held on Sunday, June 24, at 2:00pm at Ephrata Community Church, 70 Clay School Road, Ephrata, PA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with family immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Humane Society of Lancaster, 2195 Lincoln Hwy.
