Margaret J. Witwer

Margaret J. Witwer, 80, of East Earl, passed away on September 4, 2026, at home surrounded by her beloved husband and son. Margaret was born in New Freedom, to her late parents, William and Margaret (Tompson) McConnell. Her husband George Z. Witwer survives at home.

Margaret worked at several hometown banks in the processing department and will be remembered for her fierce work ethic. In her spare time, she enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens and being an avid reader. She loved her family very much and thoroughly enjoyed spoiling her son and grandsons.

In addition to her husband, Margaret is survived by her son, George W. Witwer, of East Earl, and her grandsons, Zachary K. Witwer and Ethan W. Witwer, both of Veedersburg, IN.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM, at C. Stanley Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 East Main Street, Terre Hill, with Pastors Kelly Sensenig and Keith Switzer co-officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon beginning at 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Burial will occur immediately following the funeral service in Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery, East Earl, PA.
