Margret Carrie Bowman

Margret Carrie Bowman, 25, of 74 Center Square Rd., Leola, died on Saturday, May 31, 2014.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Paul A. and Leisa A. (Brubaker) Bowman of Leola.

Margret was a social worker with Church World Services and also worked for Acadia, a brain injury rehabilitation center in Lancaster. Her life centered around helping others, through her vocation and volunteer activities. She had completed a term of service with VISTA City Year, working with inner city youth in Texas schools and an internship through Millersville University working with street children in Mexico.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by four siblings: Casi married to Michael Ortega and their three children of Texas, Teddy Bowman, Danny Bowman and John Bowman, all at home; paternal grandparents Robert and Monica Bowman of Coudersport and maternal grandparents William and Melody Brubaker, Harrisburg.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Nancy Woodward.

Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of Margret’s life through a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 7 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 150 Water St., New Holland with Fr. Pang J. S. Tscheau as celebrant. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W.
