Marguerite Kurtz, 83, of 2499 Zerbe Road, Narvon, formerly of Kinzers, died Friday, August 3, 2012 at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center after a brief illness.
Born in Gap, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Rebecca (Smith) Hillard. Her husband, Hershey E. Kurtz, died March 5, 2008.
Marguerite was a homemaker most of her life but worked part time as a clerk for Lill-Boden Gift Shop, and Deerskin Leather Shop in the Kitchen Kettle Village in Intercourse.
She was a member of the Pequea Presbyterian Church, the Moonbeam Club, the Honey Brook Grange, and the 4-H Club in High School.
Surviving are two sons, Barry, married to Gwen (Thomas) Kurtz of Gap, and Kevin, married to Kathleen (Cebular) Kurtz of Kinzers; five grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; and a sister, Irma Gehman of New Holland.
Preceding her in death are six brothers and sisters, Clair, Lloyd, Edna, Ralph, Reba and Leon Hillard.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 11 am at the Pequea Presbyterian Church, 273 Cambridge Road, Gap, PA 17527 with the Reverend Beth Engel officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held on Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland and on Wednesday from 10-11 am at the Church.
