Marguerite Lukaszewski, of Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center, formerly of New Holland, passed away on October 27, 2010. Born in Schickshinny, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Frank & Bertha (Miller) Hook. She worked for many years at the former Duplan Silk Mill in Berwick, and later as an examiner for the former Frank Ix & Sons Silk Mill in New Holland. She was a volunteer worker for the Arthritis and Heart Foundations. Her Husband John of 73 years, passed away in 2008; and their daughter Carol Pettit passed away in 1989. Also preceding her in death were three brothers: George, Keith & William Hook, and four Sisters: Verda Nesbitt, Mabel Dobson, Merle Rhinehamer and Florence McGraw. She was a member and very devout Christian of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, New Holland, Pa. Marguerite was a loving daughter, sister and a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother and a loyal, respected friend to all. She was beautiful, intelligent, caring, and a woman of great integrity, strength and conviction. She enjoyed going out to eat, working crossword puzzles, watching quiz shows and loved visiting family and friends. Surviving is a daughter, Joan A, married to James Riale of New Holland, 3 grandchildren: Mark Pettit of Camarillo, Ca, David Pettit of Shavertown, Pa, and Matthew Pettit of Lenhartsville, Pa. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Nov 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 150 Water St, New Holland with the Reverend John Schmalhofer as celebrant. Interment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday Nov. 1st at the Beck Funeral Home, 315 E. Main St., New Holland from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., with the rosary recited at 8:00 p.m. The family will also receive family and friends from 10:00 to 11:00 Tuesday at the Church.
