Marlene E. "Sis" Patterson

Marlene E. “Sis” Patterson, 78, of Mohnton, passed away on August 29, 2026, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland, PA. Marlene was born in Lititz, PA, to her late parents, Vernon M. Schreiner and Romaine L. Hoover. Her late husband, Robert L. Patterson, passed away in 2001.

Marlene had a 25-year career working as a seamstress at the Miller & Hess Shoe Factory. She then moved on to finish her career at Style Craft Cabinetry in the Finishing Department. Following retirement, she met Nelson Freeman and the two remained inseparable. They shared retired life together, where they enjoyed spending time in the mountains and fishing. She cherished their time together and the time she spent with her family. In her spare time, Marlene enjoyed rooting for the Phillies and the Eagles. She was a member of the Adamstown Rod & Gun Club and the Gouglersville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

Marlene is survived by her daughter, Vicky L. Friesema and her husband Roger, of Milton, PA, her grandchildren, Amanda Sarver and her husband Greg, Zachary Friesema and his wife Alyssa, Paige Friesema, Kayla Pannebecker and her husband Tyler, and her great grandchildren, Jacqueline, Chloe, Maverick, Stella, and Lainey. Her partner, Nelson Freeman, also survives.

In addition to her late husband and parents, Marlene was predeceased by a son, Richard A. “Butch” Waltz and a granddaughter, Angie Fox.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, beginning at 11:30 AM, at C. Stanley Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 East Main Street, Terre Hill, with Pastor Ray Voran officiating. A visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, beginning at 10:30 AM at the funeral home, until the time of the service. Interment will occur immediately following the funeral service in Mt. Culmen Cemetery, East Earl, PA.
