Martha Hoover Martin

Martha Hoover Martin, 79, of New Holland, passed away on December 18, 2024 in her residence following a brief illness.

Born in East Earl, she was the daughter of the late Noah S. and Emma W. (Hoover) Garman.

She was the wife of Amos M. Martin, with whom she married on January 3, 1967 and shared 57 years of marriage.

She was a member of New Holland Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference) and was a homemaker.

Martha is survived by her husband, Amos; children, Norma Jean, wife of Jonas Leid of Osage, IA, Rosanne, wife of Peter Nolt, Osage IA, Allen Ray, husband of Annie (Witmer) Martin, Sharon, wife of Norman Martin of New Holland; 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, siblings, Anna Nolt of Martinsburg, Allen husband of Miriam Garman of Woodbury, Titus husband of Lois Garman of Martinsburg, Mary wife of Irvin Horst of East Earl, Erma wife of Harold Martin of Greenwich, OH and Leroy husband of Janet Garman of Martinsburg. Also surviving are sister in laws, Esther Garman of East Earl, Suetta Garman of Martinsburg, Mary Ann Garman of East Earl and Emma Mae Newswanger of Stanley, WI and brother-in-law, Franklin Hoover of New Holland.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a grandson, two great granddaughters, brother Edwin, Paul and Harry Garman, and by sisters Esther Hoover and Ella Newswanger, and by brothers-in-law, Noah Newswanger and Paul Nolt.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024 at 9:30 AM at New Holland Mennonite Church, 139 Huyard Road, New Holland PA 17557 with Bishop Marvin Nolt officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. A Viewing will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at the late home, 592 New Holland Road, New Holland PA 17557 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Groff High Funeral Home in New Holland is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
