Martin M. Wenger

Martin M. Wenger, 94, formerly of 75 S. Groffdale Rd., Leola, died Sunday, May 19 at Lancashire Hall. His wife, Lena K. (Martin) Wenger preceded him in death in 1993.

Born in Earl Twp., he was the son of the late Walter Z. and Lizzie (Martin) Wenger.

He was a farmer and a member of Groffdale Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

Surviving are two children: Mabel Redcay, Arpin, WI and David M. Wenger, Leola; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a sister Hettie Zimmerman, Ephrata.

He was preceded in death by eight siblings: Menno Wenger, Harvey Wenger, Annie Zeiset, Lydia Wenger, Mary Wenger, Joseph Wenger, Levi Wenger, and John Wenger.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, May 25 at 1 p.m. at the Norman Shirk home, 1155 Short Rd., New Holland with further services at Groffdale Mennonite Church at 1:30 p.m. with Bishop Ammon Weaver officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at the Norman Shirk home on Friday from 6-8 p.m. Kindly omit flowers.
