Marvin Z. Hoover, 52, of 307 Grist Mill Road, New Holland, died early Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at home.
Born in Ephrata, he was the daughter of the late David W. and Lizzie (Zimmerman) Hoover. Marvin attended Reidenbach Mennonite Church and was a farmer.
He is survived by his brothers: John Z., married to Anna (Reiff) Hoover, Edwin Z. m. Alta (Reiff) Hoover, both of Stevens, David Z., married to Lydia (Hoover) Hoover, New Holland, Titus Z. Hoover and Leroy Z., married to Mabel (Hoover) Hoover, both of Stevens, and his sisters, Edna Z., married to Noah G. Martin, East Earl, Anna Z., married to Paul G. Martin, Milton, Eva Z., married to Paul F. Martin, with whom he resided, Esther Z., married to Luke Hoover, and Elizabeth Z., married to Clarence Hoover, both of Hopkinsville, KY, and Edith Z., married to Paul H. Hoover of Stevens.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Melvin Z. and Raymond Z. Hoover, and a sister Vera Z. Martin, wife of Reuben Martin, New Holland, and a stillborn sister Verna.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, Aug. 22, at 10 a.m. at Reidenbach Mennonite Church, New Holland. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at the late home on Wednesday, from 5 – 8 p.m. and on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Kindly omit flowers. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland is in charge of arrangements.
