Marvin R. Laukhuff

Marvin R. Laukhuff, 90, of Blue Ball, died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Coatesville V.A. Hospital.

Born in East Earl, he was the son of the late Barton and Amanda (Baxter) Laukhuff. His wife, Dorothy J. “Dot” (Witwer) Laukhuff, died June 14, 1996.

Marvin worked as a bricklayer and stone mason for 47 years for various contractors. He retired in 1984. He served in the US Army during WWII in Germany.

He was a member of the Lancaster County Wood Carvers Club and the Pretzel City Wood Carvers Club in Reading. He enjoyed carving small animals and birds, large life size animal heads and Santa Claus’. He also enjoyed wildlife photography and did his own developing, printing, and making slides. He entered several of his photos in shows.

Surviving is a son, Terry L. Laukhuff of New Holland; a daughter, Linda L. Weaver of New Holland; a grandson, Michael D. Weaver; and a great grandson, Michael D. Weaver, Jr.

Preceding him in death is a sister, Elizabeth Rutter.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 17 at 10 am at the Beck Funeral Home, 315 E. Main St., New Holland with the Reverend J. Perry Stewart officiating. Interment will be in the Bridgeville E.C. Cemetery. Viewing will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, May 17 from 9 – 10 am.
