Mary E. Bennett

Mary E. Bennett, 96, of Ephrata, died Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Fairmount Homes.

Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (Gallagher) Bennett.

She worked as a legal secretary in Philadelphia for many years for attorney Robert L. Bast.

Mary was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Surviving are three sisters, Sister Catherine Joseph, SBS (formerly Rosemary Bennett) of Philadelphia, Anna Teresa Barry of Anderson, SC, and Agnes B. Carr of Denver; a brother, Michael F. Bennett of Flourtown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by three sisters, Jane M. Bennett, Sarah Catherine Bennett, and Julia Murphy; and two brothers, William and John P. Bennett.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 12 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 150 Water St., New Holland. Interment will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Thursday at the Church from 10-11 AM. Arrangements by Beck Funeral Home, New Holland.
