Mary Jane Klaassen

Mary Jane Klaassen, 90, of New Holland, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Garden Spot Village.

Born in New Holland, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Frances (Benner) Myers. Her husband, Abram Klaassen, died Aug. 12, 2012.

Mary Jane was a 1943 graduate of New Holland High School. She worked for a time at the former Frank Ix & Sons Silk Mill in New Holland and later she worked as administrator for 22 years for Dr. Robert R. Bender in Bowmansville.

She was a member of St. John’s Center Lutheran Church and enjoyed rug braiding for home and her grandchildren. She also enjoyed baking cookies for friends and neighbors especially at Christmas.

Surviving are two children, F. Jewell, married to Barry Stewart of Frisco, TX, and A. Logan, married to Cindy (Mask) Klaassen of Marysville; three grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.

Preceding her in death is a sister, Helen Doster; and two brothers, Jacob and Charles Myers.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 26 at 2 pm at Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, PA 17557 with Chaplain Chet Yoder officiating. Interment will be in the Center Church Union Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, at Garden Spot Village Chapel from 1-2 pm.
