Mary M. Martin

Mary M. Martin, 79, of 333 Wheat Ridge Dr., Ephrata, formerly of Denver, died Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Fairmount Homes. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Lloyd W. Martin.

Born in Ephrata Twp., she was the daughter of the late Henry B. and Lizzie (Martin) Hoover.

Mary was a homemaker, did babysitting and worked at Oregon Dairy for several years.

She was a member of Indiantown Mennonite Church where she was a Sunday School teacher. She also enjoyed working on embroidery, quilting, and cooking.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children: Leon married to Resie Martin, Denver; Clair married to Jackie Martin, Hunlock Creek; Elaine married to Glenn Horning, Monmouth, ME; Jay married to Jeanette Martin, Denver; and Darryl married to Laurie Martin, Ephrata; 12 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five siblings: Henry Jr., married to Mabel Hoover, Ephrata; Raymond M. Hoover, Ephrata; Emma married to Amos Zimmerman, Ephrata; Edna Burkholder, Ephrata and Vera Martin, Ephrata.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Hoover.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Indiantown Mennonite Church with Pastors Neal Crouse, Jay Weaver and Delmar Weaver officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fairmount Homes, Wheat Ridge Chapel and at the church on Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. If desired, memorials may be sent to Fairmount Homes Sharing Fund, 333 Wheat Ridge Dr., Ephrata, PA 17522.
