Mary S. Newswanger

Mary S. Newswanger, 85, of 322 N. Hoover Ave., New Holland, died Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital. Her husband, Aaron N. Newswanger, survives.

Born in Earl Twp., she was the daughter of the late J. Eby and Mary (Shirk) Snyder.

Mary was a homemaker and a member of New Holland Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by son Raymond married to Lucy Newswanger, Shippensburg; daughter Anna Mary married to Charles Rozewicz, Mt. Vernon, OH; son Wilmer married to Arlene Newswanger, Newville; son Alvin married to Arlene Newswanger, New Holland; daughter-in-law Esther Newswanger, Curtiss, WI; daughter Marian married to Eugene Zimmerman, Rushville, NY; 44 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren; six siblings: Aaron Snyder, Lena Martin, Katie Weaver, Paul Snyder, Esther Zimmerman and Mabel Horning.

She was preceded in death by a son, Aaron Newswanger, grandson Marvin Newswanger, great-grandson Matthew Sensenig, sisters Anna Zimmerman and Edna Shirk, and a brother Norman Snyder.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 9 a.m. at her late home with further services at 9:30 a.m. at New Holland Mennonite Church with Bishop Titus Martin officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at her late home on Wednesday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Kindly omit flowers.
