Matthew K. McVaugh, age 26, of Adamstown, passed away unexpectedly at home on May 10, 2014.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Keith (Bo) and Sheri (Skiles) McVaugh of Adamstown, and the grandson of Allan and MaryAnne (Ewell) Skiles of New Holland and Melvin and the late Nancy (Shingle) McVaugh of Green Hills. He was engaged to marry Janessa D. Weaver of Ephrata.
Matt is also survived by his most precious blessing, his son, Connor Matthew McVaugh; his sisters, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law, Meghan McVaugh & Jeanette Holleman of South Bend IN, and Mallorie & Joshua Nagle of Wyomissing.
He was a 2006 graduate of Cocalico High School, attended Montgomery County Community College, and was employed by Morgan Corporation. Matt enjoyed researching Civil War history and visiting Gettysburg. He loved golf, and following his favorite sports teams- The Michigan Wolverines, New York Yankees, Detroit Red Wings, and the Green Bay Packers.
Matt was so proud to be a part of a huge and loving family. He loved all of his aunts and uncles: Sandi & Lynn Crills of Akron, Stephanie Skiles & Kim Wentzel of New Holland, Stacie & Chuck Plank of Honey Brook, Steve & Renee Skiles of Manheim, Shelby & Mark Mills of Mohnton, Gary & Robin McVaugh of New Holland, Karen & Jim Dunn of Stahlstown, Kim & Randy Kieffer of Fleetwood, Kevin & Angel McVaugh of Blossburg, Kyle & Kim McVaugh of Reading, and all of his many cousins.
A Celebration of Matt’s life will be held at Lighthouse A. G., 105 Earland Dr., New Holland on Wednesday, May 14. Visitation with the family will be from 9 – 11 a.m. with the celebration at 11:00 a.m. We are asking that you celebrate Matt by wearing your favorite team’s apparel or dress casual.
In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established for Connor.
