Maynard L. Gray

Maynard “Bud” L. Gray, 95, a resident of Garden Spot Village, passed away on March 15, 2024 at Wellspan Ephrata Hospital.

Born in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Maynard and Juanita (Deringer) Gray.

He was the husband of Gwen H. (Humphreys) Gray, with whom he married on April 13, 1957 and shared 66 years of marriage.

Bud served in the United States Army. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College and was employed as a teacher and principal for Delaware County Christian School. He had previously attended St. Stephens Reformed Church. He was involved in the Garden Spot Village Global Missions and he enjoyed gardening, fishing and being with people.

Bud is survived by his wife Gwen, children; Sara E. wife of David W. Ashworth and Gwyneth wife of Kurt C. Froelich, daughter in law; Rita Gray, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and sister; Evangeline “Dolly” Steinmeier.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son; Peter M. Gray and brother; Edward Backe.

Services will be held private at the convenience of the family. Interment in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill.
