Melvin Edward Martin, 63, of Ephrata, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, February 20, 2026.
Born in Ephrata, he was the son of the late Melvin S. and Elizabeth Z. Burkholder Martin and the stepson of the late Mary Z. Burkholder Nolt Martin.
Melvin spent most of his life in the sales and service of ATV’s and was the owner of East End Cyle in Martindale. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in the outdoors.
Surviving is a brother, Leland “Lee” husband of Marilyn Martin of East Earl; a sister, Elizabeth Ann Wise wife of the late Aaron Ray Wise of Seneca Falls, NY; and 10 nieces and nephews; step-sisters, Arlene wife of Ervin Nolt of Memphis, MO, Mary Kathryn wife of Ivan Martin of New Holland, and Betty wife of Melvin Weaver of East Earl; a step-brother, Lewis husband of Rose Anna Nolt of Richland; and a step-brother-in-law, Abner husband of Leora Oberholtzer of Gorin, MO He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Etta Martin and a step-sister Verna Oberholtzer
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, February 27, at 9:30 A.M. at the Martindale Mennonite Church, 905 Martindale Road, Ephrata, PA. A Funeral Service will follow immediately after the graveside service at the Martindale Mennonite Fellowship Center, 352 Martindale Road, Ephrata, PA with Bishop Amos G. Martin officiating. A Viewing will be held on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Martindale Mennonite Fellowship Center. Arrangements by the Groff High Funeral Home, New Holland, PA
