Mervin G. Rutt

Mervin G. Rutt, 86, formerly of Mount Joy, a resident of Lincoln Christian Home, Ephrata, passed away at the home on Monday, November 25, 2024.

He was married 61 years to the late Anna Mary Weaver Rutt who died in 2020. Born in West Earl Township, he was the son of the late Jacob N. and Lizzie S. Groff Rutt.

Mervin was a retired farmer and a member of the Clearview Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.

Surviving are nine children, Glenn married to Erla (Horst) Rutt, Lititz, Leon married to Jane (Zimmerman) Rutt, Mt. Joy, Darlene married to Ivan Newswanger, Schuylkill Haven, Merv married to Sharon (Zimmerman) Rutt, Newmanstown, Richard married to Jeanette (Burkholder) Rutt, Mt. Joy, Ruth Ann Rutt, Schuylkill Haven, Diane married to Gerald Lehman, Myerstown, Robert married to Janelle (Sensenig) Rutt, Mifflintown, Jeanette married to Clair Hoover, Stevens, 30 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lavern Rutt, Ephrata, Raymond Rutt, Lititz, and Curvin Rutt, Denver; two sisters, Mary Lou Nolt, Denver, and Anna Frances Nissley, Middletown. He was preceded in death by grandsons, Andrew, Kaden and Landon Rutt, great grandsons, Mervin Martin and Tylan Brubaker, and by brothers, John Jacob, Elmer, and Clarence Rutt.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 2, at 9:30 A.M. at the Clearview Mennonite Church, 90 North Esbenshade Road, Manheim, PA with Bishop Quinton Wenger, Bishop Amos G. Martin, Raymond Hoover, Merlin Martin, Loren Zimmerman and Galen Martin officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. A Viewing will be held on Sunday, December 1, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Martindale Mennonite Fellowship Center, 352 Martindale Road, Ephrata, PA.
