Michael A. Lippold, Sr., 64, of 1929 Barnett St., East Earl, died at his home on Thursday evening, August 9, 2012. He is survived by his wife Ellen M. (Lease) Lippold with whom he shared 43 years of marriage.
Born in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late Robert and Betty Lee (Adams) Lippold.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from Aug. 1967 to Aug. 1970 as a communication specialist and surveyor, attaining the rank of Sergeant.
Michael was a steel worker for 28 years at Lukens Steel at the melt shop ansd as a foreman in finishing. He later worked in maintenance at Hickory House, Honey Brook.
He pastored for eight years at Flaming Fire Faith Christian Fellowship, Pottstown, and attended the Worship Center, Leola.
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting and being outside.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Michelle, married to Tony Cameron, Tulsa, OK, Dawn, married to Carl Smoker, Carlisle, and Carrie Fultz, Reinholds, and his son Michael, Jr., married to Elaine Lippold, Reinholds, 9 grandsons, one granddaughter, and his brothers Bobbie and Donnie, both of Cumberland, MD, and Larry of Baltimore.
He was preceded in death by a brother John Lippold.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 14, at 11:30 a.m. at the Beck Funeral Home, 315 East Main St., New Holland, PA 17557. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Tuesday at 2 p.m. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. If desired, memorials may be sent in his memory to Reinholds VFW, 250 Brunners Grove Rd., Reinholds, PA 17569.
