Mildred C. Grubb

Mildred C. Grubb (nee Freeman), 93, of New Holland, formerly of Glenolden, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Garden Spot Village.

Born in Ridley Park, PA she was the daughter of the late Henry B. and Harriet R. (Rodenbaugh) Freeman.

After graduating from Glen-Nor, Class of '47, Millie went to work at Interboro Bank in Norwood.

On September 22, 1951, she married the love of her life, George E. Grubb. They were married for 64 years before his passing in December 2015.

Millie was a proud mother and homemaker who loved to cook, bake, sew and knit.

She loved animals, and was always on the look-out for a stray to feed. Millie liked helping others, and volunteered for many years in the Emergency Room at Taylor Hospital. She enjoyed singing with Village Voices at Garden Spot, and belonged to New Holland Methodist Church.

Surviving are four children, George T. (MaryBeth) of Springfield, Barbara Ann Garling (William) of Springfield, R. Scott of Ridley Park and Nancy J. Shawell of Leesport; grandchildren Dana and Adam Garling, Leah and Laura Grubb, Megan, Bernie, Courtney and Ezekiel Smith; great-grandchildren Lily and Connor Smith, Liam and Wyatt Meisberger and Jack Garling. Also survived by sisters H. Jean Davis of New Port Richey, FL and Suzanne Minnick of West Grove; nephews Robert Snyder, Bill and Gary Layne, and nieces Nancy Kinney, Susan Surplus and Patti Vattilana.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Garden Spot Village, 433 S. Kinzer Avenue, New Holland, PA 17557.
