Mildred K. Mcclintock

Mildred (Mid) Knepperges McClintock, 94, of New Holland, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 12, 2025 at Lancaster General Hospital.

Born in Philadelphia and raised in Millville, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Albert F. and Emmy (Frenkel) Knepperges.

She married the late Alexander V. McClintock on November 17, 1951 and shared nearly 61 years of marriage until the time of his passing in October 2012. They made a home together in Narberth, Haverford, and New Holland, PA.

After graduating with a B.A. in English Literature from Beaver College (now Arcadia University) in 1951, Mid then pursued a masters degree from Temple University and discovered her passion for teaching. She was an elementary school teacher for Narberth, Belmont Hills, and Cynwyd elementary schools in Montgomery County. She was a long-time member of Narberth Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder, helped to found and launch their nursery school, and set up and organized the church archives. More recently, she was a member of the Community Church at Garden Spot Village. She dedicated her life to faith and prayer.

Along with her love of teaching, Mid was a life-long learner, piano player, voracious reader, and devoted correspondent. Until her last days, any one of her scores of friends, family members, former students, or those in need of healing or prayer could find a card, letter, email, or newspaper clipping from Mid in their mailbox. Her favorite place on earth was the “fern path” in the Pine Creek Valley in Cedar Run, PA where she went to commune with the birds, deer, and chipmunks.

Mid is survived by her children, Glenn Alexander McClintock (Rebecca) of Glenmoore, PA and Leslie Kathleen Clement (Scott) of Portland, OR and survived (as “Oma”) by her eight grandchildren and their spouses, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her grandson Scott McClintock, daughter-in-law Valerie McClintock, and brother Albert K. Knepperges.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Avenue, New Holland, PA 17557.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cross Net Ministries and the Community Church at Garden Spot Village.
