Milton Zimmerman Horst

Milton Zimmerman Horst, 85, of 1561 Union Grove Road, East Earl, entered into rest at Wellspan Ephrata Hospital on December 13, 2023 after a short illness.

Born in East Earl on the family farm, he was the son of the late Mahlon M. and Alta (Zimmerman) Horst.

He was the husband of the late Lydia B. (Weaver) Horst, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage until the time of her passing on September 11, 2022.

He was a member of Spring Grove Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference). He was a farmer and in later years he was a roof painter.

Milton is survived by three children, Lowell husband of Mary Ann (Hoover) Horst of Penn Yan, NY, Mary Kathryn wife of John E. Leid and Bernice wife of Mervin Z. Burkholder both of New Holland; 19 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, sisters; Elizabeth wife of Raymond Zimmerman of Denver, Vera wife of Leroy Reiff of New Holland and Edna wife of Harry Leinbach of Barnett, MO and a sister in law; Fannie Horst of Fivepointville.

In addition to his wife and his parents, he is preceded in death by a still born great grandson, sisters; Mabel (John) Zeiset, Ruth (Ivan) Zimmerman, Martha (Aiden) Martin, Esther (Weaver) Martin, brothers; John (Emma) Horst, Christian Horst, Luke Horst and infant brother; Mahlon Horst

A Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 AM on Monday, December 18, 2023 at the Spring Grove Mennonite Church, East Earl, PA with Bishop Titus Martin officiating. Viewings will be held at the late home on Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery.
