Miriam E. Parmer

Miriam E. Parmer, 84, of Voganville Road, New Holland, died Sunday, December 1, 2013 at the Ephrata Community Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Bareville, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Kathryn (Denlinger) Taylor. Her husband, Levi H. Parmer, died in 1997.

Miriam worked for 40 years as a seamstress at various garment factories and later worked from 1992-1996 at the Turkey Hill in Bareville.

Miriam was a member of the former Zeltenreich’s U.C.C. in New Holland. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and going to farm produce stands.

Surviving is a daughter, Vicki L. Hainley, married to Tom Waddington of New Holland; a granddaughter, Christie McBrayer and her fiancé, Christopher Gilmore of Ephrata; three great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and three sisters, Marilyn Taylor of Ephrata, Patricia Campbell of Florida, and Shirley Eisenberger of Lancaster.

Preceding her in death is a brother, Walter C. Taylor, Jr.; and a grandson, Chad Hainley.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 11 am at the Beck Funeral Home, 315 E. Main St., New Holland, PA with the Reverend Stephen Arrick officiating. Interment will be in the Zeltenreich’s Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Thursday at the Funeral Home from 10-11 am.
