Myrtle K. Houck

Myrtle K. “Toots” Houck, 84, of New Holland, died Friday, November 17, 2023, at Hospice & Community Care, Mt. Joy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd I. Houck in 2003.

Born in Earl Twp., she was the daughter of the late Clyde R. and Annie L. (Weller) Buzzard.

Myrtle was employed for more than 30 years at the former Frank Ix & Sons as a cloth examiner until 1990. She then worked at Pellman Foods until 2011, labeling boxed food products.

A member of Summit View Brethren in Christ Church, she formerly was a member for 60 years of Ranck’s United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, crossword and word search puzzles, and going to Disney World. But her greatest pride and joy was her daughter, granddaughter and great grandsons.

Surviving is a daughter Wanda S. married to Barry R. Kline, New Holland, her granddaughter Shayna S. married to Christopher Burrell, Terre Hill, three great-grandsons: Conrad, Theodore and Grant, a sister, Doris married to Raymond Englerth, New Holland and a close friend and neighbor Lucy Hoover.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Houck, and five siblings: Ross Buzzard, Robert Weller, Elsie Sweigart, Pete Weller, and Ronald Buzzard, Sr.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Summit View Brethren in Christ Church, 846 Peters Rd., New Holland with Pastor David Fulmer officiating. Interment will be in Ranck’s United Methodist Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Sunday, November 26 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W.
