Nancy W. Frantz

Nancy W. Frantz, 77, of 206 Main St., Denver, died Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Lancaster General Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, James I. Frantz, Sr., in 1987.

Born in New Holland, she was the daughter of the late Corvin K. and Florence (Keith) Witmer.

A 1954 graduate of New Holland High School, she was employed for 40 years as a record keeper at CAP.

She was a past vice-president and member of the Upper Leacock War Memorial Association, volunteered at the Denver Fair, enjoyed Bingo, collecting Garfield memorabilia, salt and pepper shakers, Longaberger baskets, traveling, and was an avid Phillies fan. Above all, she enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are eight children: James I., Jr., married to Julie (Phillips) Frantz, Bowmansville; John W. Frantz, partner of Jerry Landis, Denver; Mischele A. married to Elvin Gehman, Stevens; Joyce D. married to Kevin Prutzman, Denver; Nancy L. Miller, Mountville; Judy L. widow of Curtis Blessing, Stevens; Jacqueline R. married to Kevin Hoshour, Ephrata; and Janette M. Kreiner, companion of Brian Nock, Denver; 20 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and two sisters: Elta McCammant and Verna Witmer, both of Lancaster.

She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, February 10 at 10 a.m. at Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland. Interment will be in the United Methodist Cemetery of Churchtown. A viewing will be held at Groff-High Funeral Home on Sunday from 6 – 8 p.m. and on Monday from 9 – 10 a.m. If desired, memorials may be sent to Faith Friendship Villa, 128 W.
