Nancy J. Portaro

Nancy J. Portaro, 55, of New Holland, died Saturday, August 11, 2018 at her home after a lengthy illness.

Born in Ephrata, she was a daughter of the late Richard S. and Jane L. (Buckwalter) Eby. She was married 28 years on June 30 to Frank D. Portaro, Jr.

Nancy was an owner and operator of Eby’s Store in Martindale where she has worked most of her life.

She was a member of Bethany Grace Fellowship. She enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping for trash to treasure items, laughing and playing games with family, dancing, and going to her husband’s band performances.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Ian, married to Courtney Portaro of Terre Hill, and Dominic Portaro at home; a grandson Cooper Portaro; and five brothers and sisters, Larry, married to Laverne Eby of East Earl, Deb, married to Denny Ober of Lititz, Diane, married to Ed Delgado of East Earl, Ron, married to Lois Eby of East Earl, and Bruce, married to Tess Eby of Narvon.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, August 19 at 4 pm at Bethany Grace Fellowship, 400 Reading Road, East Earl.
