Norman R Rhoads

Norman R. Rhoads, Sr., 66, of Morgantown, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Harbor Health Care in Lewes, DE. He was the loving husband of Elaine J. (Payne) Rhoads.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Grace I. (McFarland) and the late Richard L. Rhoads.

Norman was a graduate of Penn State University and worked as a Switchman for Conestoga Telephone and Telegraph for 34 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, a life member of the NRA and TCA, and politically active in the local government of Caernarvon Township, Berks County., serving on various boards in a variety of capacities. He was also an avid collector of model trains.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Kelly M. Rhoads, of Morgantown; 2 sons, Murphy P. Rhoads, husband of Christine, of Winter Springs, FL, and Norman R. Rhoads, Jr., husband of Stacey, of Morgantown; his mother, Grace I. McFarland Rhoads; and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 10 AM at Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main Street, New Holland, PA 17557, with interment following at the Caernarvon Cemetery, Morgantown. Viewing will take place from 9-10 AM at the funeral home.
