Odella M. Dippner

Odella M. “Nanny” Dippner, 85, of New Holland, died Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Marietta, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Katherine (Spayd) Spade. Her husband, Robert R. Dippner, Sr., died April 27, 2014.

Odella was a homemaker but also worked as a janitor at CNH in New Holland, retiring in 2012.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in New Holland. She enjoyed flowers, birds, and taking care of her home and family. She also had a special love for American Veterans.

Surviving are eight children, Katherine, married to Ken Brendle, of Narvon, George Amos, married to Linda (Axe) Dippner, of New Holland, Robert R., Jr., married to Jody (Landis) Dippner, of Blue Ball, Faith E., married to Keith Miller, of Denver, Nathan J., married to Cheryl (Herr) Dippner, of New Holland, Philip A. Dippner of New Holland, Carol A., married to Glen Taylor, of Morgantown, and David A. Dippner of New Holland; 17 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; five sisters and two brothers, Eileen Keller of Lebanon, Gertrude Refford of Paradise, Barbara Stoltzfus of Strasburg, Nancy Ebersole of Leola, Harry Spade of Paradise, Joseph Spade of Sacramento, CA, and Frances Nolt of Quarryville.

Preceding her in death is a daughter, Mercy Dawn Dippner; a daughter-in-law, Tara Dippner; two brothers, Guy and George Spade; and two sisters, Ginny Miller and Kathryn Louise Neff.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 1 at 11 am at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland with the Reverend Jack Peters officiating. Interment will be at Memory Gardens, Ephrata. Viewing will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 6-8 pm and on Monday from 10-11 am.
