Patrice Marie Carpenter

Patrice Marie Carpenter, 59, of 597 E. Jackson St., New Holland, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 18, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Darryl D. Carpenter.

Born in Lancaster, Pat was the daughter of Paul M. and Dorothy (Witwer) Weaver of Blue Ball. She was a graduate of Garden Spot High School and studied horticulture at the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia.

Pat owned and operated the Village Herb Shop in Blue Ball and more recently worked at Garden Spot Village. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Herb Society of America, and had been a den mother for the Boy Scouts. She enjoyed gardening, playing the hammered dulcimer, and above all, spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by two sons: Matthew Dyer, Lititz; and Brian Dyer, married to Heather (Galloway) Dyer, Springfield, VA; grandsons Dillan and Colin Dyer of Springfield, VA; four siblings: P. Michael Weaver, Wilmington, DE; Annette, married to Allen Lockwood, Harrisburg; Andrew Weaver, married to Suzanne (Harte) Weaver, Lancaster; and Bennett Weaver, Blue Ball; and two stepchildren, Darlene (Carpenter) Nelson and Darryl Carpenter, Jr., Quarryville.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m.
