Paul M. Weaver

Paul M. “Leaky” Weaver, 85, of 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, formerly of Blue Ball, passed peacefully on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Garden Spot Village. His wife of 64 years, Dorothy J. “Dottie” (Witwer) Weaver, survives.


Born in East Earl Twp., he was the son of the late Noah B. and Lena (Martin) Weaver.


Paul was part owner of Weaver and Witwer Heating and Plumbing until 1980. He then started Creative Energy Systems, specializing in geothermal heat, until 1998. He then worked part time for Clark Mechanical as well as Baldwin Electric.


He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, New Holland, where he served on the vestry and on the property committee as the “heat expert.” He was a member of Howell Lodge #405 F & AM – Honey Brook and a former member of the Blue Ball Lions Club, Blue Ball Fire Co., and the New Holland Historical Society. Considered the Blue Ball historian, he contributed photos to an exhibit on the town displayed in the society’s museum and made historical presentations to local organizations.


Surviving in addition to his wife are four children: P. Michael Weaver, Wilmington, DE; Annette L. married to Allen Lockwood, Harrisburg; Andrew C. married to Suzanne (Harte) Weaver, Lancaster; Bennett L. Weaver, Blue Ball; five grandchildren: Matthew Dyer, Brian Dyer, Amy married to Barton Souders, Thomas Lockwood, Rory Weaver; three great-grandchildren: Dillan Dyer, Colin Dyer, Zoe Souders; and a sister, Edna Mull, Ephrata.


He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patrice M. Carpenter, in 2013; foster parents Charles H. and Susie (Good) Zimmerman; and eight siblings: Ella Rutt, Mary Heisey, Emma High, Betty Burkholder, Jeremiah Weaver, Noah B. Weaver, Raymond S. Weaver, and Clarence Weaver.


A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 221 E. Main St., New Holland, with Pastor Rick Whitesell officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 9:30 – 11 a.m. Kindly omit flowers.
