Paul Z. Martin

Paul Z. Martin, 72, of New Holland, died Friday, April 15, 2016 at his home. His wife, Alma (Wenger) Martin, survives. They had been married for 51 years on March 13.

Born in Brecknock Twp., he was the son of the late D. Walter and Anna (Zimmerman) Martin. His step-mother, Anna Mary Martin, Narvon, survives.

Paul was a farmer and a carpenter and was a member of South Hinkletown Mennonite Church.

In addition to his wife and step-mother, he is survived by four children: Joanne married to Elvin Zimmerman, Ephrata; Neal W. married to Karen (Horst) Martin, Denver; Jeffrey W. married to Janelle (Zimmerman) Martin, Ephrata; Lonita W. married to Jay Seibel, Reinholds; a son-in-law Jay married to Charlotte (Oberholtzer) Bange, Denver; 23 grandchildren; three great-grandsons; 11 siblings: Edwin married to Esther Martin, Denver; Daniel Martin, Rosene Martin, Anna Mary Martin, Lucy Martin, Nancy married to Leon Zimmerman, all of Narvon; Rachel married to Henry VanZee, Stevens; Martha married to Noah Burkholder, Dundee, NY; Rebecca married to Leonard Martin, Memphis, MO; Bertha married to Elvin Sensenig, Reinholds; Elsie married to Lawrence Zimmerman, Orrstown.

He was preceded in death by two daughters: Carolyn Martin and Mary Jane Bange and a grandson, Michael Zimmerman.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 9 a.m. at Fairmount Home Farm Crest Chapel with further services at 9:30 a.m. at Groffdale Mennonite Church with Bishop Amos G. Martin, Harlan Martin, Merle Nolt, and Roy Sensenig officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 pm at Fairmount Home Farm Crest Chapel. Kindly omit flowers. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland is in charge of arrangements.
