Pauline J. Hoffman

Pauline J. Hoffman, 78, of New Holland, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, following a year-long battle with cancer.

Born in Leacock Township, Lancaster County, she was the daughter of the late Noah and Susanna (Ranck) Leaman. She was the wife of Harry W. Hoffman, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage.

During the 1950’s she worked as an office worker at the New Holland Machine Company, New Holland, and later became a devoted homemaker, mother and caregiver. She was an active member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ, New Holland, where she helped prepare the Communion elements for many years with her husband. She enjoyed bird watching, the outdoors, painting and drawing, and spending time with family members.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Mark W., husband of Elizabeth (Showers) Hoffman of Leola; a daughter, Pamela, wife of Wayne Hebert of Ocala, FL; and two grandchildren, Lauren and Matthew Hoffman.

Preceding her in death were two brothers, Lester Leaman, and Clarence H. Leaman, Sr.; and three sisters, Mary E. Leaman, Ruth Oberholzer, and Esther Kreider.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 24 at 11:30 am at the Beck Funeral Home, 315 E. Main St., New Holland, with the Reverend David Goode officiating. Interment will be in the Ranck’s United Methodist Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Saturday at the Funeral Home from 9:30 – 11:30 am.
