Phares R. Martin, 84, of Mohnton, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 21, 2024.
Phares was born in Denver, to his late parents, Amos Z. and Lydia (Rissler) Martin. He was the husband of Alice N. (Huber) Martin, whom he married on January 16, 1965.
He was a member of Bowmansville Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference. He was a dairy farmer and enjoyed maintaining his orchard. He especially enjoyed sharing the apple cider he pressed from his orchard with his customers and friends.
Phares is survived by his wife and his children; Glenn (Glenda) Martin, of Elliottsburg, PA, Marian (Larry) Brubacker, of Colby, WI, and Rosanne (Paul David) Weaver, of Stevens, PA. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, one sister, Mary (Earl) Horst of Geneva, NY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Martha (Henry) Gehman, two brothers, Titus (Florence) Martin and Enos (Anna) Martin, one granddaughter and two great grandsons.
A funeral will take place on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 9:30 AM at Bowmansville Mennonite Church, 913 Oaklyn Drive, Narvon, PA with Bishop Leon S. Zimmerman officiating. Burial in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewings will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at Middle Creek Mennonite Fellowship Center, 520 PA-897, Reinholds, PA.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill, PA.
