Phares H Shirk

Phares H. Shirk, 95, born July 7, 1929, of Narvon, PA, peacefully entered into rest at his home on October 23, 2024.

He was born in East Earl, PA, to John W. and Mary (Huber) Shirk. He was the husband of Arlene (Newswanger) Shirk.

Phares was a farmer and carpenter. He was a member of the Honey Brook Mennonite Church.

He is survived by his wife and eight children: Neal and Carla (Zimmerman) Shirk, Lititz, PA; Kenneth and Arlene (Bowman) Shirk, Narvon, PA; Quentin and Anita (Hackman) Shirk, New Columbia, PA; Dale and Melissa (Shirk) Kreider, Lancaster, PA; James and Gladys (Shirk) Stelfox, Spring Grove, PA; James and the late Lorraine (Geigley) Shirk, Beaver Springs, PA; Roger and Ruth (Petersheim) Shirk, Narvon, PA; Lance and Rosemary (Shirk) Shirk, Denver, PA; 46 grandchildren, and 67 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his first wife, Vera (Martin) Shirk, a daughter, June Marie Shirk, a daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren.

Services will be as follows: Viewing on Sunday, October 27, 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 at Honey Brook Mennonite Church, 678 Reservoir Road, Honey Brook. Funeral on Monday, October 28, 10:00 a.m. at Centerville Mennonite Church, 201 Sensenig Road, Ephrata.
