Phyllis A. Hart

Phyllis A. (Berkheimer) Hart, 91, of Fort Myers, FL, passed away on June 28, 2024 at Gulf Coast Medical Center.

Born in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late Millard and Iva (Jodon) Berkheimer.

She was the wife of the late John E. Hart, with whom she shared 37 years of marriage until the time of his passing on April 8, 2008.

She was employed as an office manager for SLC Corp for many years. Phyllis and John sold antiques at the Lancaster County Antiques and Collectibles Market, Denver for 23 years. She enjoyed ongoing research and learning about objects and art from yesteryear. She had a love of plants and flowers and took horticulture classes following retirement. She enjoyed a good game of Scrabble, card games, was a prolific cross-stitcher, and loved to travel especially to Hawaii with Libby and Will. For many years she and “the girls” travelled to the Jersey shore for weekends of games at the poolside. Phyllis was a woman of strong Christian faith and took pleasure in reading her Bible every morning and evening.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Melissa Glath of Ft. Myers, FL, stepdaughters, Vicky wife of Jonathan Kulp of Morgantown and Cindy wife of Carl Gundrum, Jr. of Reamstown, four step grandchildren, Carl Gundrum III husband of Angela Albright, Amanda wife of Peter Caton, Rebecca wife of Michael Farbaniec, and Samuel Kulp husband of Erin. She is survived by 9 step great grandchildren, Ava Gundrum, Vivienne Gundrum, Cade Gundrum, Seth Caton, Eli Caton, Zoe Caton, Benjamin Farbaniec, Norah Farbaniec, and Nolan Farbaniec. Also surviving are her siblings, Lois J. Ferguson, New Holland, Elizabeth J. Brundege, Manheim, Joel Berkheimer (Melissa), Roulette, and David Berkheimer (Judi), Coatesville.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a step grandson, Jeremy Shane Gundrum and her siblings, Linda K. Horton, Susan R. Hewitt, John M. Berkheimer, and Deborah L. Berkheimer.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 12th at 10:30 am, at Churchtown United Methodist Church, 2170 Main Street, Narvon PA 17557. A Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment in United Methodist Cemetery of Churchtown.

Groff High Funeral Home in New Holland is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
