Phyllis E. Moore

Phyllis Elaine Moore, 83, of Lancaster, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Calvary Homes.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Leon E. and Mabel (Knight) May. She was married 64 years on August 8 to John E. Moore, Sr.

Phyllis was a homemaker and a 1953 graduate of Manheim Central School.

She was a member of Salem Bible Church in Voganville, and a juried member of the Pennsylvania and Lancaster Guild of Craftsmen. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, making wool rugs, crocheting, cooking, reading, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three children, Lynn A., married to Ronald M. Leaman of Willow Street, Deborah K., married to William LaPoint of Chattanooga, TN, and John E., Jr., married to Laurie L. Moore of Lancaster; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and a brother, Terry L., married to Karen May of Salunga.

Preceding her in death is a daughter, Tracy Palmer.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 12 at 11 am at Salem Bible Church, 590 Voganville Road, New Holland. Interment will be in the Voganville Union Cemetery. Viewing will be held at the Church on Saturday from 9:30 – 11 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Benevolent Fund at Calvary Homes, 502 Elizabeth Dr., Lancaster, PA 17601.
