Phyllis I. Smalley

Phyllis I. (Norris) Smalley, 87, formerly of New Holland, passed away on December 28, 2021.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Iva (Kershner) Norris.

She was the loving wife of the late John T. Smalley, with whom she married on July 30, 1955 and shared sixty one loving years of marriage until the time of his passing on January 22, 2017.

Throughout her life, she was a dental secretary after high school, a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family, taking trips to New England with her husband, watching the wildlife from their front windows, planting her famous pink bubble petunias, doing puzzles and shopping.

Phyllis is survived by her children; Deborah A. wife of Don Slider of Denver, John T. Smalley Jr. of Morgantown, Mark C. Smalley of South Carolina and Steven K. Smalley of Denver. Also surviving are grandchildren; Shannon N. wife of Mark L. Schnettler, Kevin M. Slider, Kyle P. husband of Cortnie Smalley and Tyler husband of Addison Smalley, great grandchildren; Renee M. Schnettler, Ryan M. Schnettler and Hunter Smalley and a sister; Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Norris of Squim, WA.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she is predeceased by a brother; Dr. Stanley Norris.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 1:30 PM at Groff High Funeral Home, 145 W Main Street, New Holland PA 17557, with Chaplain Chet Yoder officiating. There will be a viewing held for one hour prior to the time of service. Interment will take place on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, 352 S Gulph Road, King of Prussia PA 19406.
