Raymond Gehman, 83, of 18 Ray Dr., Denver, died Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Ephrata Manor. His wife of 59 years, Elaine (Stymiest) Gehman, survives.
Born in Bowmansville, he was the son of the late Frank and Lizzie (Good) Gehman.
Raymond was a self-employed excavator. He also served as the Bowmansville Fire Company chief for many years and as a supervisor Brecknock Twp. From 1955-1957, Raymond completed his 1-W service at the Samuel G. Dickson State Hospital (South Mountain).
He was a member of Pine Grove Church, Bowmansville.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Gregory Gehman, Denver, Sam married to Annette (Weber) Gehman, Reinholds, and Joel Gehman, Denver, three grandchildren: Seth and Nathan Gehman and Hannah Greiner; four great-grandchildren: Kamila, Mikala, Blake, and Charlotte; three siblings: Betty Martin, New Holland; Bernice Gehman, West Reading; Richard Gehman, New Holland.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Violet and Edna Gehman and Reta Krick and three brothers: Webster, Chester, and Robert Gehman.
His funeral will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Pine Grove Church, 1194 Reading Rd., Bowmansville with Pastor Jonathan Yoder officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. A viewing will be held at the Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 – 11 a.m. Kindly omit flowers.
