Raymond E. Harnish, Sr., 85 of New Holland, went home be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Maple Farm after a lengthy illness.
Born in New Holland he was the son of the late Benjamin and Minnie (Houck) Harnish. His wife, Janet A. (Hollinger) Harnish, died July 30, 2012.
Raymond was a farmer and carpenter most of his life.
He was a member of Christian Fellowship and enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving is a daughter, Debra, married to Dennis Weaver of East Earl; two sons, Terry, married to Carmen Harnish of New Holland, and Raymond, Jr., married to Kimberly Harnish of New Holland; 4 grandchildren, Jocelyn, Alison, Brendon, and Dylan; 2 great grandchildren, Micah and Amelia; and a sister, Minerva, married to Gene Shirk of New Holland.
Preceding him in death are several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 2 at 10 am at Christian Fellowship, 758 Spruce Road, New Holland with the Reverend David J. Horst officiating. Interment will be at Ranck’s United Methodist Cemetery. Viewing will be on Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W.
