Ray lived a full life and passed away at the age of 95, in the morning of November 12, 2025 in Kunkletown, PA.
He was born on March 18, 1930, in Cranbury, New Jersey. Ray was an excellent craftsman, as he had a tremendous passion for woodworking and metal work.
His childhood was spent in Cranbury, New Jersey. He attended Hightstown High School where he met his future wife, Dorothy Adams.
In 1952, Ray graduated from Rutgers University and shortly thereafter married Dorothy. They followed a 4-year career to Denver, Colorado and Valdosta, Georgia, where Ray was enlisted in the United States Airforce. Ray and Dorothy (Dot) returned to New Jersey where Ray began a career in the food brokerage business.
The Pocono Mountains were always a favorite spot for Raymond and Dot. They spent many wonderful years vacationing in this area. In 1974, Raymond retired from the brokerage business and started a copper lamp business, in Pocono Pines. He and Dot were very successful, for the next 30 years, as they created colonial lamps and pewter ware for many of the local homes and businesses.
In retirement, Ray and Dot spent their time in New Holland, Pennsylvania at Garden Spot Retirement Village. They both thoroughly enjoyed their home there. Ray spent most of his time in the woodshop making furniture and enjoying the camaraderie with fellow woodworkers. He also spun pewter bells, goblets and bowls to share with the residents.
Most recently, Ray moved to Mrs. Bush’s Personal Care Homes, in Kunkletown, Pennsylvania. This was a lovely facility, for Ray, where much love and concern were given to him.
Raymond is survived by his two children, Thomas (Xian) and Terry (Rick); his grandchildren Rich (Holly), Abbie (Tom), Emily (Andrew), Becky (Robin) and Scott (Chris) and his great grandchildren Ava, Jaxton, Forrest, Sawyer, Barrett and Russell. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, brother Harold and parents Russell and Theresa.
A Celebration of Life is planned to be held in the summer of 2026 in Pocono Pines, PA
In memory of Raymond, contributions may be made to the Benevolent Fund, at Garden Spot Village, 433 S Kinzer Ave., New Holland, PA or Mrs. Bush’s Personal Care Homes, P.O. Box 327, Kunkletown, PA.
