Raymond S. Weaver

Raymond S. Weaver, 76, of Blue Ball, died unexpectedly Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Ephrata Community Hospital.

Born in Caernarvon Twp., Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Noah B. and Annie (Sauder) Weaver. He was married 54 years on October 11 to Mabel (Hurst) Weaver.

Raymond was a truck driver from 1954 until his retirement in 2007 for the former Victor F. Weaver Poultry and later for Tyson Foods.

He was a member of Christian Fellowship Church where he formerly served as youth leader. He enjoyed socializing, NASCAR, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and going to the mountains.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Cynthia L., married to Jerri Parmer of East Earl, Kenneth L., married to Sherry (Burkholder) Weaver of New Holland, Gerald L., married to Lynda (Zimmerman) Weaver of East Earl, and Randall J., married to Tracy (Beck) Weaver of East Earl; 13 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Noah B., married to Edna (Burkholder) Weaver of Manheim, and Paul M., married to Dorothy (Witmer) Weaver of Blue Ball; and a sister, Edna Mull of Ephrata.

Preceding him in death are six brothers and sisters, Ella Rutt, Jerri Weaver, Mary Heisey, Emma High, Elizabeth Burkholder, and Clarence L. Weaver.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 10 am at the Christian Fellowship Church, 758 Spruce Road, New Holland with the Reverend Dr. Doug Bozung officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held on Monday 5-8 pm and Tuesday 9-10 am at the Church.
