Raymond D. Styer

Raymond D. “Sonny” Styer, 82, of New Holland, died Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Churchtown, he was a son of the late Raymond H. and Margaret (Devine) Styer. He was married 63 years on September 17 to Dawn L. (Weaver) Styer.

Raymond was a truck driver and mechanic for Herbert Ewell; and for the past 30 years worked for Usner Excavating in East Earl until 2016.

He attended Grace Family Church in New Holland and enjoyed woodworking and NASCAR, and was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan. He was particularly fond of watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Gary D. Styer of East Earl, Thomas L. Styer of Washington, DC, Karen S., married to Joe Rivera of East Earl, and Dean S., married to Nancy E. Styer of Lancaster; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; a brother, Carl “Butch”, married to Donna Styer of Churchtown; and a sister, Faye Witwer of Narvon.

Preceding him in death is a brother, Larry Styer.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Family Church, 415 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland. Private interment will be held at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
